Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

Happy Labor Day! Thank you to the men and women of the labor movement who work hard to strengthen our economy, stand up for workers’ rights, and make our community a vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family.

MAYOR’S UPDATES

  • Back-to-School Week: I want to wish all our Stamford students, educators, staff, and families a wonderful school year ahead! It’s an exciting time to be at Stamford Public Schools, and I remain committed to investing in our school facilities and educational programming to ensure our educators and students have the resources and learning environment needed to thrive and succeed.

  • Expanding Maternal Health in Stamford: Our Department of Health and Human Services, alongside the Family Centers' Parents as Teachers program has expanded to include vital doula services to improve birth outcomes, reduce anxiety and maternal depression, and provide crucial advocacy for lower-income families during the birthing process. Advancing maternal health care remains a priority for my administration, and I am proud that we allocated these funds in our FY2024-2025 budget. Learn more about this important effort here.
  • UCONN Convocation: This week, I participated in the UCONN Stamford Convocation for the Class of 2028. We welcomed 975 freshmen students to Stamford as they begin this next chapter of their academic journey. UCONN’s growth in Stamford has been remarkable, and I look forward to expanding this partnership with the university as we look to educate and support the next generation.
