STAMFORD, CT – Mayor David Martin today announced that the City of Stamford and the Stamford Partnership will be sponsoring a fireworks show on Saturday night in conjunction with Soundwaters’ Harborfest. This is the second year the City and the Partnership have sponsored fireworks at Harborfest.
“Harborfest is such a great event celebrating our harbor,” said Mayor Martin. “I can’t think of a better way to end this fun event than with fireworks over the harbor. After spending the day down by the water, I hope families will stay in the area to enjoy the show.”
Added Stamford Partnership Executive Director Jackie Lightfield, “The Stamford Partnership is happy to support the work of Soundwaters and the City of Stamford in promoting the public recreational enjoyment of the Stamford harbor with this year's Harborfest.”
Harborfest runs from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Harbor Point Waterfront, (2200 Atlantic Street). The fireworks show will begin just after 8:00 p.m., once it is fully dark. The fireworks will be viewable from the Harbor Point Waterfront, and also from the western part of the harbor at Boccuzzi Park or along the new boardwalk.
Mayor Martin will be presenting “Cardboard Cup” awards to the winners of the Mayor’s Cardboard Cup earlier in the day, with the youth awards ceremony at 12:00 p.m. and adult awards ceremony at 4:00 p.m. in the boardwalk area of the Harbor Point Waterfront.
