Coming up with the perfect name for your business is a difficult undertaking. Once you have the idea, your next step is to register it. If you’ve decided to conduct your business under a name different than your own, Connecticut State Law requires you to register with the City of the Stamford Town Clerk Office. The certificate will state the name under which the business will be conducted and the full name and address of each person conducting such business. In the case of a corporation or limited liability company, the name must be authorized by an officer and acknowledged before an authority authorized to administer oaths.
