Before you commit to a location or building space, you should familiarize yourself with the city Zoning Map and regulations you will soon have to abide by. These regulations such as the location, size, height, number of stories and use a buildings, are a prerequisite of obtaining a Building Permit and Building Certificate of Occupancy as per the State of Connecticut Building Code. The City of Stamford’s Planning Board is charged with the coordination of the city’s development and is responsible for implementing these regulations. This Planning Board acts upon the referrals made by the Zoning Board & Zoning Board of Appeals.
